Fedora Philippines 2010

Fedora is a Linux-based OS that showcases the latest in free and Open Source software. It is built and maintained by the Fedora Project - people across the globe who work together as a community. Fedora Philippines helps organize local Fedora contributions, events and projects.

The University of the Philippines Information Technology Training Center (UP ITTC) was established by the Japanese and Philippine governments through the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to address the inadequate practical training and industry experience of Filipino IT graduates.

The UP ITTC administers the one-year Certificate in Information Technology training program with emphasis on the following specializations: Applications Development, Network Systems, and Mobile Computing and Embedded Systems.

Fedora Project Philippines successfully held a Linux Overview Talk with UP ITTC's newest batch of trainees last 25 August 2010 as part of its celebrations for Linux Day this year.

Special thanks to UP ITTC trainers Sonia Pascua and Jordan Centeno for making the event possible.
